Booking information, vertical guarantees, cancellation policies, insurance and COVID-19.

General Cancellations for daily operations

Cancellations must be submitted in writing by email to info@phantomheli.com, and will only be recognized once received by operations. Cancelation requests sent directly to guides in lieu of the office will not be recognized as guides are often in the field and unable to relay messages.

Greater than 30 days from start date:

The deposit will be refunded in full

30 to 14 days prior to trip commencement:

The deposit amount will be forfeited

Less than 14 days:

The full trip amount will be forfeited

If Phantom heli cancels a trip for reason within their control prior to the start date, a full refund will be provided. If Phantom heli is forced to cancel a trip for any reason after the trip start date, a full refund for the unused portion of the trip will be provided.

 

Weather and Conditions Cancellations

Heli-skiing is reliant on appropriate weather for our helicopter to fly. In the event, we do not have the weather or conditions to safely operating for the day the head guide will make the call to cancel all groups. If your day is canceled due to the weather or conditions your balance will be refunded or applied to a future date.

 

Covid-19 Policy

Please note: As of September 2021, under the guidance of provincial health authorities all guests are required to be double vaccinated against Covid-19.  If these regulations change our policies will be updated to reflect them.

If a trip is unable to proceed due to COVID restriction or general travel restrictions the following policy will apply.

Greater than 30 days from start date:

The deposit will be refunded in full

30 to 14 days prior to trip commencement:

100% of the trip balance will be credited for 2 calendar years.

Less than 14 days:

90% of the trip balance will be credited for 2 calendar years.
Sickness

If a guest feels they are unwell to join the trip or course the following policy will apply.

Greater than 30 days from the start date:

The trip amount will be refunded in full

30 to 14 days prior to trip commencement:

The trip balance credited for 1 calendar year.

Less than 14 days:

90% of the trip balance will be credited for 1 calendar year

 

 

BOOKING POLICIES AND CANCELLATIONS FOR lodge based TRIPS

The nature of heli-skiing requires commitments well in advance of your trip beginning.  A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking.  The remaining balance is due by November 1st.  Failure to pay balance can result in cancellation without notice.  For bookings made after November 1st the full balance is due upon time of booking.  Bookings made on or after November 1st are non-refundable.

If you need to cancel your booking, written confirmation is required via email (info@phantomheli.com).  Cancellations on or before November 1st are refunded minus a 5% cancellation fee.  Cancellations made on or after November 1st are non-refundable.

If you must cancel your booking the best situation is you’re able to find a replacement to live out your heli-ski dreams.  If you are unsuccessful please contact us ASAP.  Phantom Heli makes all reasonable efforts to fill your spot at full price.  If Phantom is responsible for filling the spot we will retain a minimum of 5% of your total booking amount.  Additional funds may be retained at the discretion of Phantom Heli to cover expenses incurred for rebooking and price differential if discounting is necessary.  No refunds are provided if Phantom Heli is unable to find a replacement.

We’ll take this opportunity to again remind you:  Please purchase trip cancellation/interruption insurance.

 

COVID-19 BOOKING POLICY

Until Canadian federal government travel restrictions are lifted or until November 1st we offer normal booking policy refunds.
If federal travel restrictions are not lifted by November 1st final payment dates and non-refundable deposit dates will be pushed back as reasonably as we can.  We will contact you and work with you on these dates.
If federal travel restrictions are re-imposed or either party is forced to cancel without reasonable attempts or alternatives prior to December 1st we will refund your payment minus the 25% deposit.  The deposit will be rolled over as partial payment to the following year booking season.
If federal travel restrictions are re-imposed after December 1st and either party is forced to cancel without reasonable attempts or alternatives the booking payment is non-refundable.

Please contact us for more information on our COVID booking policies.  As you can appreciate this is a fluid situation and changing constantly.  We want to work with our guests to make their heliski experience the best one possible while protecting your investment.

 

VERTICAL GUARANTEE

All our packages multi-day are unlimited vertical skiing and our goal is to make sure you get your fix.  However sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate for helicopter flying conditions.  Phantom Heli guarantees 2500 meters of vertical per day and 1250 meters of vertical on transfer days.  These amounts are cumulative over your entire trip.

Refunds and credits are offered in the event of poor flying weather or mechanical breakdown.  Flying condition decisions are made solely by pilots and guides.  Refunds are not given if you choose not to participate based on physical condition or rider ability.  No refund is given in part or in whole for unused days resulting from late arrival or early departure.  If you choose not to ski a day, or end skiing early for whatever reason and you do not reach the vertical guarantee there will be no refund given.

Refunds given follow the following formula:  $100 refund, or $150 credit per 1000 meters short of our guarantee.  Credits are non-transferable without written approval from Phantom Heli and good for 2 years from the date of issue.

 

Cancellation and interruption insurance

Phantom provides emergency medical insurance as part of your ski package purchase. This policy covers your time with Phantom, not before or after.

We strongly recommend you purchase trip cancellation/interruption insurance.  Sometimes life changes fast, a missed flight, early season injury, global pandemic shuts down all international travel etc.  Bookings become non-refundable after November 1st and heli-skiing is a big investment for you.  Protect your investment and please purchase trip cancellation/interruption insurance.
